We all love the RH look, the price tags, not so much.
And imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?
Here are my tips on how to achieve the Restoration Hardware look for less.
GO BIG OR GO HOME:
If you walk into a Restoration Hardware showroom or just flip through the pages of their catalogs, you will notice something in common.
Everything is massive.
There aren’t a ton of little tchotchke’s all over the place, just a lot of oversized objects, art, and furniture.
Scaling up the primary furniture pieces in your space can help you achieve a luxurious look.
USE NEUTRAL TONES & NATURAL MATERIALS:
You will see a ton of natural materials used in the Restoration Hardware look.
Concrete, wood, and neutral tones keep the spaces feeling calming and inviting while allowing the furniture pieces to stand out on their own.
Walls are always painted a neutral and the art is typically black and white, and again, massive in scale.
You can avoid a cold sterile feel by introducing a ton of texture to your neutrals rather than bold patterns or colors.
Think sheepskin rugs, wool rugs, linen pillows and drapery, the list goes on and on.
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY:
I am a firm believer in buying investment pieces that will last you a long time, while filling in and balancing that out with thrift store finds, or sale items.
Spend more on the pieces that you fall in love with and have great quality.
It is better to have a room full of less items that are of high quality, then to have a room filled with tchochkes that don’t mean much and are only there to fill the space.
Take your time when designing your rooms.
Design doesn’t happen overnight.
With that being said, I have pulled together some Restoration Hardware looks for less below.
Have fun browsing and hopefully you’ll find something you like, without the heft price tag attached!
