I remember being near Pasadena once and wanting to eat there but never did. When I heard it closed I wanted to go buy some of the stock. I wonder what is happening with all the contents. All by Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic, also closed. MB
I live in NY so I have been no where near her restaurant. But I do remember watching a special when Rachel Ashwell had her tv show for a little while many years ago. It was a behind the scenes look at how Rachel decorated it and where she found all of that yumminess for inside. I will never forget it! I love your blog by the way!!!!! Jennifer

Having lived in Southern California, naturally, I wanted to go. My sister went. She said it was amazing.
Rachel Ashwell decorated/designed the entire thing. I think that was the main reason I wanted to go.

I taped the episode of Shabby Chic which chronicled Rachel Ashwell designing and shopping for all of the decor for Madre's…it seems like an entire era in home design is gone…I get blue everytime I go to the store and see how few design magazines are left!
