I love adding unique homemade touches every year to our home for the seasons.
I always fall back on Walmart for my crafting supplies because they have such a plethora of goodies!
You can shop in store or online to find almost anything you need to make your DIY decor.
This year I decided it would be fun to make little DIY scrap fabric table top trees.
This project is super easy, even kids can make these.
A fun craft project for the whole family!
I would suggest using a low temp glue gun if you are going to do this project with little ones.
I used this board and cutter to cut all my strips of fabric. You can use scissors but this makes the job sooooo much easier and quicker. Not to mention, you will get neater cuts.
Walmart has so many different fabrics to choose from to match your holiday decor.
I chose a mix of neutral rustic plaids for mine, but you can certainly do any fabric combination on yours!

Start by cutting strips of fabric.
I made mine 1″ x 2″
Get your glue gun heating up and ready to go.
Start on the bottom and work your way up.
There’s no rhyme or reason to the fabric pattern, just do what looks pleasing to you.
After the first row, glue on the second row starting in between 2 of the pieces of fabric as shown in the photo below.
Work your way up to the top until all the styrofoam is covered.
Finish off with a pom pom on the top and then comes the fun decorative part!
I used this black paint to give these boxes a more modern look.
When the trees are placed on top if elevates the entire look for a beautiful vignette.
You can place the trees right on top, or add a metal piece in between similar to what I did on mine.
I stacked mine on top of this book and this book, and added sprigs of fresh seeded eucalyptus to finish it off.
This post is sponsored by Walmart, all ideas and opinions are my own.
