Spring hasn’t sprung yet even though I am really longing for that sun!
In the meantime I am keeping myself busy with craft projects indoors and out of the cold.
This neutral snowflake wreath is the perfect winter addition to our decor, and I am excited to show you how to easily make your own!
As you may or may not know, I am always looking for ways to add neutral and textural seasonal pieces into our home.
So let’s make this DIY winter snowflake wreath!
Gather your supplies-
Embroidery hoops {one hoop will make 2 wreaths}
a cup of coffee, you’ll see why shortly!
ribbon, this is the exact one I used
Instructions-
Spray your snowflake molds lightly with non stick cooking spray.
Then smoosh white clay into the molds.
I use a large flat cheese knife or spatula to remove the excess clay clean.
Then gently tap, tap, tap, out onto a piece of waxed paper and let dry.
You may need to flip them over after several hours, repeating until dried through.
Once dry, brew a strong cup of coffee and paint each one with the coffee!
This will stain them a beautiful aged color. I did several coats on mine.
While they are drying, separate your embroidery hoops. One hoop will make 2 wreaths!
Tie a bow on with pretty ribbon. I love using velvet ribbon.
Alternating snowflake patterns, simply hot glue on your dried snowflakes!
Go all the way around until the entire embroidery hoop is covered.
Hang and enjoy all winter long!
Now go wash out those snowflake molds and save them to make some pretty cookies!
Please pin any of these images to your winter DIY boards.
I hope you have fun making yours!
