I have been doing some updates to our dining room and am so excited to show them to you!
The biggest change I would say is the new chairs.
While I absolutely LOVED our old dining chairs, the casters on the bottom of them were not conducive to our rough uneven slate floors. The casters got really beat up and a couple even came loose.
So I updated our chairs and not only do I love the looks of the new ones better, but we can fit 2 more around the table for a total of six! I have 2 more on their way.
Pottery Barn sells these chairs which is where I first saw them.
But I did a little digging and found the exact chairs here for A LOT cheaper!
The new chairs prompted me to get a set of black dishes, which I am in love with. The black dishes actually came from a thrift store, but since then I found these dishes that are even better!
Also new silverware that is a gorgeous gun metal grey. I love this silverware! It has a gorgeous shape to it and is dishwasher safe.
I kept the centerpiece simple with a paper mache bowl and my new favorite “floral” to decorate with- the tumbleweed!Â
I have them scattered all over my house now, some under glass cloches and some in bowls. I absolutely love the texture and neutral color on them.
Over above the floating sideboard I added a picture ledge. Â For reference ours is the 60″ in black.
To warm things up I brought in rustic, light, worn wood tones.
This vase is one of my new favorites. I filled it with neutral faux branches from a local shop.
The rustic wood breadboard gives the room a lived in look along with the vintage sifter.
I also added my favorite black bread board and pictures of my nephews which make me smile every time I walk by.
In the far corner next to the cabinet where I keep all my extra glassware, I have another stack of breadboards, a mix of old and new.
I feel like the room is so much cohesive now and the colors are really soothing.
I also am really happy with the mix of old and new in this room.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the new look!
And be sure to save these photos to your Pinterest boards for later.
Come back on Thursday and I will be showing you a fun Easter DIY project that will be in this room for the holiday.
Hope you are having a great day!
