Do you want to know a secret?
This cute project can be made in under 5 minutes and for around $3.00.
That is less than a cup of coffee.
Perfect for your neutral Valentine’s Day decorations, or any wall that needs a little love.
I got everything I needed for this project {besides the glue} at The Dollar Tree.
You will need this wooden heart, rope, and Spanish moss.
If you can’t find the heart at your dollar store, try cutting a heart out of a piece of cardboard for your project.
It doesn’t even need to be very thick.
Try cutting up a cereal box or something similar.
You will also need a glue gun for this project, and low temp is best.
I decided to do this project in lieu of traditional flowers for Valentine’s Day.
I think the moss adds the right amount of texture and brings the outdoors in.
Start by hot glueing the rope to the very inside of the heart form.
You can see I started at the base and left a little extra length to ensure it came to a point.
Once you have the rope around the perimeter of the heart, you can start hot glueing on little bits of Spanish moss until the entire piece is covered.
The low temp glue gun will save your fingers from getting burnt since you will be pressing the moss on with your hands.
Trim away any strays that jet out passed the rope outline with scissors.
The Spanish moss tends to be messy, so be sure to protect your work surface and cleaning up will be a breeze.
I just love the color and texture of the grayish moss and I hope you will give this easy product a try!
