I saw these canisters at West elm, but man, $286 for the 3 of them seems absurd.
So I found some jars at Hobby Lobby {alternative sizes here} and decided to try and DIY my own!
Besides the canisters with the wood tops, you will also need the following.
Rings for tops, these are the exact ones I bought.
Drill with a 1/4″ drill bit.
Pencil.
Ruler.
Start by taking off the rubber seal on the wood tops, and cleaning the jars, removing the price labels.
With a few light coats, spray paint the tops and bottoms of the lids with black spray paint.
The one linked above is the exact one I used.
Once dry, use a ruler and pencil to mark the center of each one.
Drill a hole in the top going almost all the way through but not completely through.
If you do go through, simply use spackle on the bottom, sand and add a light coat of spray paint.
Add a couple drop of super glue into the tops and insert the rings making sure they are straight.
Let dry.
Put the plastic seals back on the tops, fill with candy, pantry staples, cotton balls and q-tips, whatever you prefer!
By making your own you will save literally hundreds of dollars.
Such a simple DIY that even a beginner could do!
