Happy September 1st!
How many of you have already started decorating for fall?
I typically wait until after labor day, but I have been doing a little hear and there because I just can’t wait.
This is the season of all things cozy, my favorite season!
I hope you are ready for some fall content, some fall diy projects, and some recipes that involve a lot of baking.
Today I am participating in this years first DIY fall project with some of my favorite blogging friends.
At the end of this post you can see what clever ideas they came up with for you all.
But for now, let’s talk about my project!
This project started out with a need for a fun fall centerpiece when we dine outdoors.
When the air gets crisp, there’s nothing I like better than dining outside.
This project, my succulent table runner actually came to me after I purchased this container.
I really wasn’t sure how the quality was going to be, but you guys, it is so great, sturdy, and high end looking.
It is steel, powder coated, and scratch resistant.
I am already thinking of different fun uses for this trough planter, highly recommended!
For reference I bought the one that is 32″ long.
Here is how I put this together and what you will need!
FAUX SUCCULENTS, I BOUGHT THESE AND ADDED IN SOME FROM HERE
I did this project outdoors because it was a little messy.
Protect your surface for easy cleanup if you are doing this indoors.
Gather all your supplies.
Cut the foam blocks down with a knife to fit inside the container, then fill the entire container with them.
Piece by piece start poking in the faux succulents.
You may need to cut down some of the longer stems to fit.
When you do this, vary the colors and sizes so no two of the same are next to each other.
Once you have it filled in and are happy with the look, tuck in your spanish moss to cover any gaps where the foam shows.
At this point you can add even a few more small succulents if there’s a spot that looks empty.
That’s it!
