Today I am joining a group of bloggers to share with you all some do it yourself Mother’s Day gift ideas! Moms love homemade gifts, I certainly do. If DIY projects aren’t your thing though, you can view my Mother’s Day gift guide right here. However, if you want to make something special, today is your day. At the bottom of this post you will see everyones projects with links, so be sure to keep reading. My DIY gift is super simple. So simple in fact, it really only requires a printer. But, for those of you that want something a little more custom, I will show you how you can do that as well. DIY FRAMED PRINTABLES: I created these printables just for you. To access them, simply click on the links below for the corresponding prints. I made four different versions for you to pick from: I love you Raise your glass Have a mind that is open You are my sun If you like any of these, all you need to do is print them out. I printed mine out to a 8×10, and then to make it look a little more custom, I folded the paper on the black border and ripped them on the fold. I didn’t use the matting in my frame. I simply used double stick tape to adhere the ripped print to a piece of plain white printer paper, then placed that in the frame. HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM SAYING: Maybe you have a special saying between you and your Mom. Or perhaps you want to type up a special recipe to gift her. Maybe it is her favorite poem. Whatever it is, I am going to show you how to make your own. I use PicMonkey for all these types of creations. You do have to pay for it {if you don’t want to, you can just type yours up in a word document} but I like the different options it gives. It is also a great app for editing photos. Once you have PicMonkey open, click on the “create new” tab on the top left and select “blank canvas” from the drop down menu. From there choose any rectangle canvas. I chose the facebook group cover. Click on “text” in the upper lefthand corner and then the blue “add text.” From there you can select your font choice and size. For mine I chose Silver South Script. Then simply type out your saying. Once you have it where you’d like it, you need to add a border. To do so, click on “frames” at the bottom left in the gray bold area. Click on “simple edge” and adjust the thickness by sliding the dot on the line. Finally, click on the download button and save it to your computer. Then I placed mine into a word document, sizing it to an 8×10 and printing it out. I used this frame because I liked the simple narrow profile of the frame itself.
