Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a great weekend.
I was busy this weekend updating our living room gallery wall and I am so excited to show you the results of that today!
I LOVE our gallery wall.
It has been the one thing in our home that has remained the same for years and years.
It is filled with special photos of our neighborhood way back in the 1920’s. I love the black and white old school photos.
I can’t even remember now exactly how I acquired these photos to begin with, but one of our neighbors must have given them to me.
I remember rushing to my home printer and making copies of them and framing them not long after in Ikea Ribba frames.
Fast forward over 10 years later and those Ikea frames were looking a little dated to me. They weren’t bad, but some were falling apart as well and it was just time to update the look.
I also decided it was time to make the photos look a little sharper, so today I am not only going to show you our updated gallery wall, but also how to turn low resolution photos into high resolution photos, and where I get them printed.
Let’s tackle those photos first.
HOW TO MAKE LOW RESOLUTION PHOTOS HIGH RESOLUTION FOR PRINTING, ENLARGING, AND CLARITY-
If you have old photos, or photos maybe taken from your phone that you want printed or enlarged, here is an easy way to do that!
The website I use is called Let’s Enhance. It is basically a website that will turn your low res photos into high res for a clearer print.
I believe you get a certain amount of free enhancements and then you just have to pay a small amount after that.
It is a user friendly website where you just upload your picture, hit start processing, and you will get a larger file to print from!
I use it a lot as it has become a really handy tool and I hope you like it too!
WHERE I GET MY PHOTOS PRINTED-
I have a couple places I like to use. For standard size photos I like to use Shutterfly. Their turnaround is quick and I like that I don’t have to even leave my house to get them done 🙂 They usually always offer promotions and sales as well.
Shutterfly is who I used for my living room gallery wall.
For really large prints I like Mpix.
They are great for making large canvas’ too like the ones we have in our office space here.
SWITCHING UP OUR FRAMES-
These are the frames we had up previously as shown in the picture below. Like I said, nothing wrong with them, I just wanted something a little sleeker with a thinner profile.
Here are the frames I ended up purchasing. They are a little bigger and the frame is slimmer. I love the large matting and I think they are perfect! Since they are slightly larger I was able to get away with 12 frames rather than 15.
To elevate the space even further, I added two battery operated picture lights.
These lights are an amazing price for what you get! They come with a remote, are on timers, and have several different settings to choose from. I highly recommend!
They took literally minutes to install.
THE AFTER-
We are so thrilled with how it looks!
The after is a bit more streamlined and elevated with the sleeker frames and picture lights.
