That is how old I am today.
And older I feel.
Here is why I feel older today:
1) I can have a party and the neighbors won’t even realize it.
2) My kids think the clothes I pick out for them are ugly.
3) I get irritated while shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch because the music is too loud.
4) I got glasses.
5) The guy that owns the soccer arena emailed me to ask if I would consider joining a woman’s over 40 team.
6) My feet hurt in cute shoes/heels and I am seriously considering orthotics.
7) We are having a cocktail party on Saturday and I forgot how to mix drinks.
8) I nap regularly.
9) The young guys at the mall don’t check me out anymore.
10) I can’t drink without getting a hangover.
11) People call me at 9 p.m. and ask, “did I wake you?”
12) I have a 5Th grader who has the same teacher I had in the 6Th grade.
13) I consider coffee one of the most important things in life.
14) I can go bowling without drinking.
15) I look forward to my dull Saturday evenings.
xoxo

I'm on the couch on a dull thursday night …
you'll be fine, my dear
Happy Birthday Girlfriend! Wish I could say I was still in my 30s!!! LOL I am really hoping 50 is the new 40, cause 40 isn't what it's cracked up to be!
Happy Birthday – and don't fret you still sound cool to me.
Happy Birthday! Don't feel old, you are gorgeous!
Ha. Happy Birthday. Gotta say, #9 and #10 are my favorites.
LOL I can relate to many things on your list! 🙂 Happy Birthday!!
I love your blog and have never commented before today but this post cracks me up!!!! Happy Birthday!
I love this post too! I hate to say this to you after reading this, but I will be turning 27 in a few weeks and all of a sudden feel old and don't feel like doing anything big, like I usually do. So I know how you feel.
Anywho, have a great birthday and I hope that this is the best one yet!!
It sure comes on you fast! I know just how you feel. It acually does get better I think.
All that sounds tooo familiar. Happy Bithday!
Janet
Happy Birthday Melanie… and please don't feel old! I'm 45 and I'm definitely NOT old, so you certainly can't be old!
Hey Melaine wait until you are looking at your 58th, which is just around the corner and your husbands joins AARP for you,
URGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I keep telling myself age is a state of mind but the bod, when I try to get out of bed in the morning, is telling me it is just plain OLD!
Be proud of your age and how much you have learned and you will continue to learn. Hope that you had a great day.
Pat
PS. You look so darn cute in your glasses!
Oh, too funny. I so agree with #3…too loud and too much cologne, what girl likes that on a guy!
#10…so true, in fact I stopped because I kept getting migraines with just one drink! and lastly #13…best creation and can't live without it!
I found you through RMS and then I started blogging and had to put you as a favorite. Keep your great ideas coming! Happy Birthday!
Megan
Happy Birthday!!
I feel EXACTLY the same way.
Happy Birthday Dear! Your list was cute but if it makes you feel any better… I'm 25 and can relate to more than a handful of things noted on your list. 🙂
I'm with you on 3 and 13 but the funniest is 5! just like me ;-(
Happy Birthday, enjoy
Sarah
Tooooo funny!!!!!!
Happy Birthday….and don't worry until your children start calling you a "dinosaur" like mine do…
Happy Birthday Melaine! 35! You are still a BABY! Enjoy these last 5 years in your 30's…however, I really love being 40 (did I just say that?)…
Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas!
Jill@Forever Cottage
Happiest of Birthdays to you, friend! I was lying in bed last night, talking Cory's ear off while he was trying to sleep, and I forgot if I am 33 or 34. That's when you know you're getting old. 😉
ps- Loved your funny list!
Happy birthday! I love #14. Too Funny!
Boy, aint that the truth! Just turned 50…egads!…hard to swallow.. Enjoy 35 my dear…it all flys by way too fast! ~Cindy
Sorry I missed your birthday, yesterday! Hope your 35th year is fabulous. You share a birthday with my step dad, and I think 12/17 is a lovely day to have been born. Loved your list!
Happy Birthday, enjoy
Work from home India
first happy birthday!!
second, I am sure the boys still check you out….I am sure of it! 🙂
Cute!! I hope you had a magical day and a glorious year will follow. You deserve all good things!
Happy Birthday Melanie! Where do you play indoor soccer at?
Too funny. I have to agree with most of what you said, except for having a 5th grader. I have a 15 year old daughter and if that doesn't make a person feel old, nothing will. If you think your kids don't like the clothes you pick out now, just wait until they are teenagers! As far as drinking at my age, I had two glasses of wine last night and feel like I am going to die today.
This is too cute…happy belated birthday to you. 🙂 Lovely blog!
Oh my, dying over here!!
-Jill
Happy Birthday….and I love your list! And don't worry…age is just a number!
I am 23 years old. Coffee is my life too. I have parties and the neighbours don't hear a thing. I too look forward to my dull Saturday evenings. I wear glasses – blind as a bat! Think of what I have to look forward to hahaha
