REMEMBER WHEN I WENT TO THE FLEA MARKET AND GOT THAT GREAT VINTAGE FRAME? WELL, IT HAS NOW BECOME A CHALKBOARD THAT HOLDS OUR NIGHTLY MENU IN OUR DINING ROOM!
I HAD MY HUBBY PICK UP A THIN PIECE OF WOOD FOR ME WHEN HE WAS AT THE HARDWARE STORE. I THEN CUT IT TO SIZE AND SPRAYED IT WITH 3 COATS OF CHALKBOARD PAINT! I GLUED IT WITH LIQUID NAILS OVERNIGHT AND VOILA, A MENU BOARD!
IT SITS ON A CHAIR IN THE CORNER OF MY DINING ROOM FOR NOW, BUT I KINDA LIKE IT THERE!
I WAS GOING TO HANG IT WHERE YOU SEE THE BLACK FRAMED MIRROR….
HERE ARE A FEW OTHER FUN MENU IDEAS. THIS ONE IS PAINTED DIRECTLY ON THE WALL. USE THE CANNED CHALKBOARD PAINT IF YOU DON’T HAVE GOOD VENTILATION AND DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO MASK EVERYTHING OFF.

Love it!! I really like it sitting on your chair. Did you know that you can also paint a surface to make it dry erase? Just saw a can of it at Home Depot. Kids would LOVE it!!!……Kathy @ A Little Pinch of This and That

thanks !!!
Love it looks great!
I am going to paint something soon with my chalkboard paint, when I decide. I got some old frames I could use too. I have seen an old wood ironing board painted and used for one, then the back legs made it stand up like an easel affect. It was cute.

ALWAYS A SURPRISE OVER HERE!!!
I’M REALLY DIGGN’ THE CHALKBOARD THINGY
I love your new chalkboard. I think it looks great on the chair!
I just wanted to tell you that you and your home are truly an inspiration to me.
I’ve decided to take advantage of my nesting and really push to get projects done around the house before #2 arrives – and I’m hoping to give my daughter a love of crafting, decorating and seeing beauty in things others think are trash in the process.
Thank you.
Looks terrific! I’m on the hunt for a frame to make into a chalk board for my kitchen too. I made one from scratch for my office which is also magnetic…I love it!
SHUT UP! That looks so good! I love the frame and what a great idea to make it a menu board! I am learning so much! 🙂

A pasty (pastie?) is a meat pie usually filled with meat, potatoes, and maybe carrots or peas. It looks like a big turnover and it’s usually served with gravy. 🙂
Love the chalkboard ideas!
I had to come over and tell you I posted about a chalkboard that I just put in my dining rm too! I love the idea and yours looks adorable on the chair! If you get a chance stop by and take a look at mine (;
Hugs~Kelly
I made one and it was so much fun, Love how the old frame looks around it. Blessings!
Really love your chalkboard. I got an old oval frame… with curved glass… dont know what to do with it. Planned on finding an old picture and blow it up into that frame but havent found the right pic. I have one question… do you always leave your dishes and glasses on your dining room table? I always wanted to do it but always felt it would look like a store. love the way you set up in your dining room.
Brenda’s right about the pasties. (pronounced with a short a) — They’re delish! Love the chalkboard– you inspire me to go flea-marketing!
