This past weekend we celebrated my husband turning 50 with a big casino night at our community lodge.
I had wanted to share photos on Instagram stories during the weekend, but I just got way to busy with setting up, cooking, and decorating.
So I thought I’d share a few photos with you today!
We had around 100 guests and it was such a fun night.
The party started at 7 so I didn’t serve dinner.
Instead I served “bar food” and I sprinkled charcuterie boards around the lodge in different areas.
Think chicken wings, meatballs, mac and cheese, etc.
I only had one table set up for people to sit at and eat, as the lodge has several different seating options with couches, chairs, and high top tables to stand at.
I created an easy centerpiece out of birch branches and these stems from hobby lobby.
I had been collecting vintage decanters to use for water and I added those around the venue as well.
I also collected vintage whisky glasses and had candles made in them for the party.
I hired a casino company to come in with game tables and dealers.
We had 5 tables total and it filled up the space nicely.
I was super happy with the company.
The dealers would teach players how to play if they didn’t know how.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating.
I hired out bartenders and made a “menu” to look like a giant chalkboard.
To do this I taped sheets of black wrapping paper together, and then added the wording.
In order to keep myself from going crazy at the last minute, I bought everything way ahead of time and kept it all organized and together.
The only thing I bought right before the party was the food, as I didn’t have room to store it all.
I made a vintage style casino sign to go on the mantle, which had to be huge to fill up the space.
I think it’s around 4′ long.
All the rustic wood charcuterie boards were found here.
The entry table got some giant oversized playing cards and paper dice, along with a big wooden bowl for birthday cards.
Each guest got to take home a whiskey glass that I had etched with “vintage 1972” on them and, “aged to perfection”
The dessert table consisted of brownies, donuts, mini cupcakes from my friend at PinkaBella, and custom casino themed cookies from Becky Bakes.Â
Didn’t they turn out super cute?
Savannah and I knocked out this balloon garland with the help of this life {finger} saving tool.
It was such a special night with family and friends and I know everyone had a good time because it went until 3 am!
