Today I am talking about one of my favorite ways to decorate and my top tips for working with neutrals.
Neutral homes do not have to be bland and boring.
In fact to me neutral homes are anything but.
There’s just a few things that will help your decor from falling flat while creating a neutral home aesthetic.
ADD TEXTURE-
I talk about texture a lot in decorating.
Adding in textural elements will make your space more visually appealing.
One easy way to add in texture is by bringing in different materials like rattan or wicker.
Even different textures on your throw pillows will help to create this look.
Think about adding pieces paired together with different materials.
For example, a metal table paired with upholstered chairs.
Or a wood piece paired with sleek metal.
Our dining room below is a good example of this.
Sleek metal shelves with wood all around and a metal console in a varying neutral with pottery inside.

LAYER HUES-
Layering different textures is a great way to keep a room from falling flat.
Layer multiple neutral colors, textured throws, and artwork for a curated inviting look.
Tonal art, cream on white, grey on black, layer, layer, and layer again.

INCORPORATE NATURAL ELEMENTS-

Driftwood, teak, rock and stone, are just a few natural elements you can add to your space to create an organic modern look.
CONTRAST MATTERS-
It is important to create contrast in a neutral space.
My favorite color to contrast with is black. It is sharp and chic and looks great with all other neutrals.
Pair a soft black leather pillow with creamy linen pillows on a nubby sofa like I have done below.
Black and white photography is another great way to add neutral contrast.
