Looking for an easy Fourth of July DIY that feels timeless, elegant, and budget-friendly? These DIY stamped napkins are one of my favorite patriotic decorating ideas because they take just minutes to make but add so much charm to your summer table.
Instead of buying themed holiday linens you’ll only use once a year, I decided to create my own neutral Fourth of July napkins using a simple rubber stamp, an ink pad, and cotton napkins. The result is a subtle American flag design that feels understated, classic, and perfect for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, or any summer gathering.
If you love neutral home decor as much as I do, this simple DIY is an inexpensive way to create custom table linens that you’ll enjoy year after year.

Why You’ll Love These Easy DIY Stamped Napkins
One of my favorite things about this project is how versatile it is. Instead of bright red, white, and blue, these stamped napkins have a soft, neutral look that pairs beautifully with almost any table setting.
They’re perfect for:
- Fourth of July entertaining
- Memorial Day tablescapes
- Labor Day dinners
- Summer BBQs
- Outdoor entertaining
- Rustic farmhouse decor
- Modern organic home decor
- Neutral patriotic decorating
Because the design is subtle, they feel festive without overwhelming the rest of your table.
Supplies You’ll Need For These Easy DIY Stamped Napkins
This project couldn’t be easier.
You’ll need:
- Plain linen or cotton napkins
- Small American flag rubber stamp
- Ink pad
- Iron (optional for heat setting, depending on the ink you use)

How to Make These Easy DIY Stamped Napkins
Step 1: Prepare the Napkins
Wash and iron your napkins before stamping to create a smooth surface. This helps the image transfer evenly.
Place a piece of cardboard or scrap paper inside the folded napkin so the ink doesn’t bleed through.
Step 2: Ink the Rubber Stamp
Press your American flag rubber stamp evenly into the ink pad. Make sure the entire design is coated without overloading it with ink.
Step 3: Stamp the Napkin
Choose one corner of the napkin and firmly press the stamp onto the fabric.
Lift the stamp straight up to avoid smearing the image.
Repeat on additional napkins.

Step 4: Let the Ink Dry
Allow the stamped napkins to dry completely.
If your ink recommends heat setting, lightly iron the back side of the napkin following the manufacturer’s instructions.
That’s it! In just a few minutes you’ve created custom patriotic napkins that look much more expensive than they actually are.
Styling Your Easy DIY Stamped Napkins On Your Fourth of July Table
I love layering these stamped napkins with simple white dinnerware, woven chargers, vintage brass accents, wood serving boards, and natural linen table runners.
For this table I kept everything neutral so the stamped flag becomes a thoughtful little detail instead of the main focal point.
Some of my favorite styling elements include:
- White dishes
- Placemats or chargers
- Brass or gold flatware
- Dried Pods or faux florals
- Wooden serving boards
- Neutral candles
- DIY Napkin Rings
The combination creates a relaxed, collected look that’s perfect for summer entertaining.
