When we added on Savannah’s bedroom to our house 10 years ago, one of the things I wanted to use was an antique door as her closet.
Over the years I have painted it many colors including pale pink, cream, and most recently, white.
But when I gave her room a little makeover this last time, I decided I wanted it to be bare wood.
I didn’t use any messy paint strippers, I just sanded, sanded, and sanded some more.
I almost forgot to take a before picture.
I was going to use a liming wax over the top of it but decided to leave it as is and I think I love it this way. Which way do you prefer it?
Painted or raw wood?

where did you find the antique door for her room?
I adore the raw wood- it's a nice change from painted. I have one sitting in my garage room…hmmmm….
I really like the raw wood. It looks great and if you change your mind down the lane the liming wax will look great as well.
It's gorgeous either way! I love that you can still see some paint clinging to the edges!
I love the raw wood! The door is beautiful!
Love the door stripped, but I think it was just as pretty painted. Either way, the door is really great. Love how the paint is still in the crevices. Very nice!

Love the door!
Love the door! Is that a speak- easy door (with a peek window?)
Raw wood, hands down fav!
That door may look old, but it seems that it’s still in good condition. As for painting it or keeping the raw wood, I’d say that the raw wood blends well with the color of the walls right now. So unless you’re planning to repaint the walls too, I think it is okay to stay with the raw state. Cheers!

I have just installed iStripper, and now I can watch the best virtual strippers on my desktop.
