A while ago I teamed up with some friends to do a project using pressed botanicals from the 1800’s. If you missed the post you can read about it here.
Well since I can’t seem to sit still or leave things be, last night I thought it would be fun to paint the frames black.
Here is the before:
I was inspired by this photo:
And here is the after:
These are awful photos, I know.
I’m almost too embarrassed to post them,
but you get the idea, lack of photography skills aside…..
I also painted over the stripes and made a new coat rack.
{no, not all last night}
xoxo

Love the botanicals and the black frames look perfect. The coat rack is super too. Hugs, Marty
I think they look beautiful…..I have looked for some botanicals…no luck yet…but this post gives me hope!
They look great! I have some from France but not in frames, they look good framed~Cheers Kim
Oh, I love your botanicals and I think they show up much better in the black frames! 🙂
thanks so much for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Love the vintage letters on the side… very original!

I was thinking the before looked pretty good – the green picks up the green of the botanical – but I think the black really takes them from good to great!

Love them and love them even better dressed up in black! Can I just suggest for aesthetics that you alternate the botanical and the script, like a checkerboard effect on the wall? As you have them for some reason my eye seems to follow a heavier line of botanicals on the right and totally disregard the beautiful scripty stuff on the right. Maybe try top row: botanical/script, next row: script/botanical, repeat. May just strike a better balance…but that could just be me. 🙂 Gorgeous either way! 🙂
thats it ..I'm digging out my old flower press…these are so cute!

They look great! Can I ask where you got the lovely "horn" sconce?
Love the black frames AND the fact that you can't seem to leave things be 🙂 xxo Monica
I love the new paint…I had gotten mine at Michaels on sale :)…..have been thinking about changing that wall…I mean seriously it has been like that for 7 years! Can you believe that?
I bought some more of those at Scott's the other day…just cause she had them on sale for 15.00!
