This is the aging glaze I used. (in brown, by Plaid) Nothing fancy, you could even water down brown paint. I just globbed it on with a foam brush and then wiped off the excess with a damp rag.
After we ripped off the rockery, we started with a plain plywood base.
Then we added 1×6″ hemlock and trimmed that out with moulding (don’t have a pic. with the moulding!)
Once all the woodwork was done, I filled in all the nailgun holes with wood filler.

Amen!!!

Wow! I hadn’t noticed the rock before on RMS site. This is beautiful and with more storage and counter space. You must be very proud of your teamwork with your husband. Once again an inspirational posting.
Thanks. This is great. I have a french style rattan headboard that I am still trying to decide how to paint. This could be an interesting choice!
oooooh melaine…it turned out fabulous!!! the glaze certainly adds a unique finish…i love it! 🙂
I so love that finish! Is your entire kitchen done that way?
And, just curious why you chose to tape the hardware as opposed to removing it?
