Hello! I am breaking up all the Christmas posts with a non holiday one!
I recently gave our laundry room a much needed mini makeover.

I appreciate you shopping my links and supporting my small business!
This all came about when both our washer and our dryer died. Ugh, what a pain!
Luckily for me, our neighbor let us use her washer and dryer for a week. What a blessing!
So here’s the deal.
Our laundry room is tiny and by tiny I mean 25 square feet tiny.
We have plans to add a larger laundry room onto our house in the future but we have been so busy that we just haven’t got around to it.
So since we had the washer and dryer both gone from the room for a whole week, I decided it was time to spruce it up and make it more functional for us.
Here is a peek into our laundry room before. Cute but honestly, so cramped and it never stayed this clean. Things just got thrown in there and the washer and dryer location was awkward to say the least.
And while that rack on the back of the door held a lot, I wanted to do away with it and come up with a different storage solution.
For reference, the laundry room sits off our kitchen behind this door.
Up first, the walls.
With an empty room the first thing I did was give the walls a fresh coat of white paint. I went with Benjamin Moore simply white to make it cohesive with the rest of our house, plus, I just love this color.
I didn’t realize how dingy the walls were until the new paint started going up!
Secondly, the floors.
Our sad old tile floors had seen better days.
There were pieces missing, stains, you name it.
I found the closest match to our main floors as I could and went with this waterproof flooring, and I went right over the top of the tile to save time! At only 12mm thick it  didn’t affect the door shutting, etc.
A new washer dryer space saving combo.
Now the room was ready for our new washer and dryer!
We contemplated doing a stacking washer/dryer combo, but then we found this!
And no, this is not a sponsored post, I just really am in love with this space saving unit!
Let me just count the reasons why I love it. There’s about 5,000, but here is 6.
1- NO VENTING REQUIRED! Whatttt? I had never heard of this but it’s genius! Our old dryer used to vent into our crawl space. I can only imagine what it looks like down there. Yuck. And not to mention the countless times I had to clean out the vent coming out the back. Needless to say, this is a game changer.
2- This all in one unit is a space saving genius. Obviously we have so much more room now with only one machine. Yep, this machine washes and dries our clothes all at the same time! And it works sooooo well! Gone are the days of making sure the wet clothes get thrown into the dryer in time. No more switching clothes from the washer to the dryer.
In under 2 hours, I have washed and dried clothes.
3- This washer/dryer combo connects to my phone and lets me know wherever I am if my clothes are washing, drying, or done. It also alerts me when to clean the filter and when it is time for a self clean option. And that is reason number 4 why I love it.
4- Self clean. Just like your oven, after 40 loads of laundry, you hit the self clean button and let it do it’s thing!
5- It connects to a 110 outlet instead of a 220, freeing up space on our panel for other options!
6- You can load a whole jar of detergent into it, plus fabric softener if you wish and it dispenses the perfect amount every time. No need to add it every wash, this machine does it for you!
I could go on and on, but these are just a few reasons why I love it.
New shelving and storage containers.
Once this space saving washer/dryer combo was in we added in shelving and bins to store all the things.
The shelving is just inexpensive Home Depot pieces cut to length and secured by metal brackets.
We then purchased these bins and I spray painted the lids black because you know I don’t do color, haha.
I used my label maker to neatly label everything.
Below the bottom shelf is our hamper and our dog food bin.
On that small shelf is our dog food treats, meds, etc. in a basket, as well as our dog food bowls.
I moved the first aid kit over and took off the red lettering and adding black lettering.
Everything feels so cohesive and we can actually walk into this room without tripping over stuff!
In fact, the dogs love to lay in here!
Look how happy I am to have this new space!
Do you have any questions for me about this room?
Drop them in the comments below, I am always happy to answer.

Very good idea. Where did you purchase the washer dryer and is it energy efficient? My laundry room is small. I took was thinking of getting a stack washer and dryer but have arthritis so am needing something different. I love Smart appliances and bought a used Maytag Commercial washer which is great but not good for arthritis. I’ve been wanting to add onto the laundry room, the dining room and put in a vent for CHA in the laundry room, maybe have a outside room for the cat.
