Do you like to thrift? I have been thrifting since I was in elementary school. My mom would take me along with her on her thrifting adventures. Thrift shops, antique malls, flea markets, you name it. And I too carried on the tradition with my kids. I’d bribe them with the toy section and it worked every time, haha. And I am still hooked. I go at least once a week to see what is new. It pays to go often as the items sell fast!
One thing I am always drawn to at the thrift shops is the pretty dishes. I am always looking for a good neutral set, or even just random pieces. Black, grey, white, cream, or all of the above. I recently just scored this entire set at Goodwill. The marble cake stand was another good find on a different day. I have a couple different cupboards I like to keep all these thrifted dishes in. Several in my kitchen for white dishes and I have all my black dishes in a cupboard in our dining room.
I have collected so many pieces over the years that I can create so many different table settings and themes. I thought for spring it would be fun to do a mostly all white table setting with my thrifted pieces. So here we go, what do you think?
Getting entire collections takes time and many trips to the thrift store. I got most of these things over a long period of time. I recently just found this white McGee and Co pitcher at Goodwill for $6.99! Not only are these pieces pretty, but they are functional as we use them daily.
The grey/black pot was a flea market find and it was pricey but it is one of my favorite things I own. I am a big believer in mixing high end and budget friendly pieces, and this table setting is the perfect example of that! The tumbleweed was found on the side of the road but you can find them here if you don’t have access to them. They are one of my favorite pieces to decorate with and add texture to a room.
Vintage silverware is another thing I am always scooping up when I see it. I usually find them for under 50 cents a piece. I have so many now, I think I could host a wedding and have enough!
Glassware is fun to thrift and always readily available. People either get new sets or some break and they donate one or two here and there. I love mixing them for an eclectic look. These little custard cups have a very cool texture to them. I found them recently at a thrift shop my mom volunteers at. I think they are perfect for a small dessert or fruit salad.
If you are looking for that delicious banana cake recipe, you can find it here!
