Let’s make a DIY antler hose reel today!
This project is so easy once you have all the supplies on hand.
I love the dimension and uniqueness it adds to the exterior of our home.
I hope this is a DIY you’d like to try!

This was inspired by this hose kit that retails for almost $450.00.
I have to be honest, I almost bought it.
But then one day while I was wondering the aisles at Ikea, I saw a black deer head wall hanging {since discontinued, linking up similar ones at the end of this post} and knew it would be worth a shot to make my own version!
The one at Ikea was called “GARDSTANGA” in case you want to try and find one on eBay or somewhere like that.

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS-
All you need is a deer head, set of antlers, or something similar. If it isn’t already the color you want it to be, simply spray paint it!
Mount it to a piece of wood, painted or stained.
Then just mount that whole thing to the exterior of your house and hang your hose!

COST BREAKDOWN-
The deer head was on sale for $19.99, and the wood plaque was around $5.00.
I had the paint so all in this project came in at under $30.00!
Not bad seeing as how my inspiration was $450.00!

I love how it turned out! It is a bit rustic, but still modern and blends in so much better than the mess that was there before!

TIPS FOR MAKING THIS-
Make sure you are checking measurements on everything.
For example, you don’t want to buy a 9×12 plaque and teeny tiny hooks that won’t even hold a hose. Or vice versa.
Just make sure the antlers are big enough and strong enough to hold the hose you choose.
If you’d like to see a video I created making this, I will put it up on my Instagram!
