DIY coasters made from temporary tattoos

Have you noticed the popularity of travertine in home decor lately? Travertine pieces are popping up all over the place. I am sharing some of my favorites at the end of this post, but first, let’s make these DIY coasters made from temporary tattoos on travertine tiles!

MATERIALS NEEDED- This project requires a trip to Home Depot for a few simple items! Travertine sheet Felt pads Temporary tattoos Water Washcloth or rag Scissors Spray varathane

INSTRUCTIONS- Grab one of thee 12×12 sheets of travertine tile. Pay attention to the colors and the texture on the 4×4 pieces. These will be your coasters. I chose pieces that were lighter in color and has less “pits”

When you get home, cut out the square pieces. You should be able to make four coasters out of one sheet of this travertine.

Dampen your travertine square with a wet washcloth. Then cut our your selected temporary tattoo, turn it upside down onto your tile, and press firmly with the same wet washcloth until the design transfers over.

Carefully peel the paper back revealing the design!

Once try, spray varathane on to protect the surface. Finally, add felt pads to the bottom to protect your furniture! What do you think?
