The holidays are such a fun time to add homemade touches to your home.
Today I am going to show you how to make this fun and easy DIY no sew Christmas tapestry to add to your holiday decor.
This DIY tapestry is a little rustic, but that is what makes it so unique!
Here are the supplies you will need:
SUPPLIES:
Old drop cloth. If using a new one, you can make it look old by splattering paint on it.
Splattering on white paint will also create a snowy like scene!
Fabric scraps in a contrasting color to your drop cloth. I chose an off white fabric I had laying around. I also chose black to go with my darker decor this year.
Hot DRY iron.
Scissors.
Pen.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Rip your old drop cloth into pieces.
I made my tapestries into an 8×10 size so that I could opt to frame them.
Iron if needed.
Iron on the wonder fuse to the backside of your fabric scrap.
You can follow the directions on the package of the wonder fuse.
Let cool.
Using a stencil, or you can freehand, draw your tree shape onto the wonder fuse using as much empty space as possible to get the most out of each piece.
Now you can cut the shape out using a pair of sharp scissors.
Carefully peel off the backing from each shape and position it on your drop cloth where you want it.
Pressing hard and long, iron on the tree to your drop cloth.
The wonder fuse will adhere the tree to the drop cloth, no sewing necessary!
That is it!
Hang as is or frame, for cheer all season long!
If you want to further the rustic nature of the piece, you can add on patches or even grommets.
