I am sharing a fun project that I made with you today!
These DIY oversized dominos are a great boredom buster for the dead of winter.
They would also be a fun game to play on a date night in for Valentine’s Day!
This project actually started with a pile of old picket fence pieces.
When my in laws moved out of my husbands childhood home, I salvaged some pieces of the picket fence, knowing someday I would do something fun with them,
Well, the time came to transform these old pickets into a fun game.
Don’t worry though, if you don’t have old pickets laying around, you can make these out of any type of wood, old or new.
Each domino, 28 in total, measure 5.5″ x 2.75″
Cut each piece of wood to size.
Then print out each domino piece to size, making sure each one is the size of your domino.
Cut each piece of paper out.
Flip them to the backside and with a pencil, scribble all over the dots and lines.
One by one, tape each paper pattern onto the tops of each piece of cut wood.
Using a ballpoint pen, trace around every dot and dividing line.
The pencil will transfer off from the paper onto the wood.
You can use any black latex paint to paint in the dots and lines on each domino.
In keeping with the vintage feel, after they are dry, use a sander or sanding block to distress the tops, and rounding the corners a bit.
Now you have a fun game to play indoors on a cold winter night, but how fun would these be in the summer played outdoors?
I hope you like this project and will try it out for yourself!
Don’t forget to pin any of these images for later!
What are some of your favorite boredom buster games?
Please leave them in the comments!
