When it comes to Halloween decor are you team gory and scary, or are you team spooky and fun? I like to think I am a little bit of both, but todays project leans more on the spooky and fun side. I am teaming up with some blogging friends today to share with you our pumpkin projects for this fall and Halloween! Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post so you can see them all. My project today I am calling my floral ghost pumpkin! I have had so much fun using ghosts in our decor this year. I have made tomato cage ghosts, cheesecloth ghosts, I have purchased ghosts to decorate with, and now this little floral ghost pumpkin. You could do any shape really. I thought of doing a half  moon. You could also do a bat, a pumpkin, a witch, or something else spooky fun.
How to make this floral ghost pumpkin-
To start, you need a pumpkin, real or faux. Make sure it is a large pumpkin so you have room to do your design. Tall and skinny is best over short ones. I used a faux one and wanted it black so I spray painted mine. You can also buy them already black, I just couldn’t find one that particular shopping day. I will link up to everything at the bottom of this post as well. Then you need a pattern. You could certainly freehand this as well, but I chose to print out a pattern, cut it out, and trace around it with chalk onto my pumpkin. If you would like to use the same one I did, I have it for you here. Once your pattern is traced on you will want to heat up that hot glue gun. While that is heating, pull pieces from small faux florals. I found a garland that had the right size {you want small pieces of flowers} flowers and used that plus I picked some blooms off of other faux florals I had laying around. Then all you have to do is start filling in the pattern on your pumpkin with the faux flower heads! Watch your fingers, I would suggest a low temp glue gun for this project. Place the flowers close together and once filled in, stand back and see if theres any gaps that need more flowers. Then once completed, display with your Halloween decor!
