A friend of mine recently made these for a gathering and I fell in love on the first sip.
They are seriously that good.
There are so many different variations on how to make margaritas, but if you make this recipe, it might be your last.
It is simple and easy to make and I have been making it in big batches and storing it in the fridge for those impromptu summer guests that pop by.
You can actually juice the limes, and make the simple syrup way ahead of time and store them in your fridge.
Then all you need is to add the tequila at the last minute before serving.
ingredients-
4 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
4 ounces good tequila
3 ounces of honey simple syrup
directions-
Salt the rim of your glass with lime and salt if you prefer. Some people don’t like the salt, so skip this step if that is the case.
Fill the glass with ice.
Add ice to a shaker and then add the rest of the ingredients.
Shake well and pour over ice.
How to make the honey simple syrup:
Mix equal parts very hot water and raw honey and stir until dissolved. Cool completely.
Tips-
You will need a ton of limes for this recipe if you are making it in big batches.
Save your hands and get a hand juicer if you don’t have one already.
Are you ready for the recipe?
Don’t forget to pin it so everyone can enjoy a fresh homemade margarita themselves!
If you’d like to try a variation on this recipe try these subbing in the following ingredients.
Replace a 1/4 of the lime juice with fresh squeezed lemon juice.
Or try substituting 1 1/4 of the lime juice with other fruits like grapefruits or oranges.
I personally love grapefruit and have tried this recipe and it is delicious.
Nothing beats a fresh squeezed orange though!
No matter which way you try it, you are sure to have your thirst quenched!
