how to turn a fall wreath into a spring wreath

I am so happy that Spring projects are among us!

Today I am going to show you how to turn a fall wreath into a spring wreath.

This also works with a Christmas wreath, or any wreath that is out of season or dated.

I tend to find these out of season wreaths at thrift stores all the time. People get rid of them because their faux florals have faded, they are dusty, or they are just tired of looking at them.

I am going to show you how to bring a new life to your old wreaths and update them for Spring, all in minutes.

I purchased the fall wreath at a thrift store for $4.99. It had a beautiful grapevine base.

Obviously since it isn’t fall, I decided to update it for Spring.

If you don’t have a welcome sign, you can make your own by following the steps in my tutorial here.

However, I did find a couple inexpensive cute ones online.

This one can be done in a custom color. Same with this cute one and finally, this one, which reads something a bit different!

You will also need one of these command hooks made for jewelry, and you will see why I am using that further on down in this post.

Hang your sign from the lowest point on the command hook.

Strip all the old florals off of your wreath until it is just the grapevine base.

Select new faux florals or greenery to go on it.

I used lambs ear, eucalyptus, and some leaves off a hydrangea flower.

You will probably need wire cutters to trim some of the stems back.

Then simply tuck them into your grapevine wreath so that they are all going the same direction. It can be as sparse or as full as you like.

When you have the look you like, hang it from the top two prongs on the jewelry hook. It will overlap the sign a bit and be a warm Spring welcome for the season for anyone who comes to visit!
