This is the most simple recipe and they are absolutely delicious!
My mom has been making this recipe for years and years and now I am making it for my own family.
Cardamom is the perfect spice to combine with blueberries in this delicious muffin recipe.
What is cardamon?
Cardamom is a spice made from the seeds of several plants in the genera Elettaria and Amomum in the family Zingiberaceae. Both genera are native to the Indian subcontinent and Indonesia.
It is well-known for its warm, aromatic, and slightly sweet flavor.
It pairs well with juicy sweet blueberries which makes this recipe such a favorite.
Ingredients-
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup milk
4 cups flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1 Tablespoon cardamon
2 cups blueberries
Instructions-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease or line a muffin pan.
Mix sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, and cardamon. Fold in blueberries gently.
The batter will be dense.
Place dough into muffin tin and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Check, and bake further if needed until a fork inserted in the middle comes out clean.
I hope you like this recipe as much as we do!
What is the weather like where you are? We are experiencing a lot of rain and freezing temps. Perfect weather for an excuse to stay in and bake goodies!
*TIP* If you use frozen blueberries, coat them in sugar or flour, or a little of both. This will help them from bursting open when you mix them in and prevent the batter from turning an ugly gray color. Fresh blueberries are always best, but if you have to use frozen, it will work too!
I personally pick blueberries when they are in season and then freeze them in batches to use all winter long.
Either way, you are going to get a juicy dense delicious muffin bursting with flavor!
