Spring is the perfect time to refresh your home and get it in tip-top shape for the upcoming months. After being cooped up indoors during the cold weather, there’s no better way to welcome the sunshine than by giving your home a thorough clean. Not only does it create a fresh and inviting atmosphere, but it also helps to eliminate dust, dirt, and germs that have built up over the winter months.
If you’re ready to tackle the seasonal deep clean but don’t know where to start, I’ve got you covered! With my printable spring cleaning checklist, you’ll be able to systematically clean every area of your home and keep it sparkling all year long. Plus, I’m sharing some helpful tips and tricks to make the process easier and more enjoyable. Let’s dive in!

Why Spring Cleaning Is So Important
We all have our regular cleaning routines, but sometimes we miss those little details—like wiping down cabinets, cleaning light fixtures, or scrubbing the grout in the bathroom. Spring cleaning gives us the chance to focus on those often-overlooked tasks and really deep clean every corner of our homes.
Spring cleaning also helps reset the space, making it feel more inviting and enjoyable to spend time in. Plus, once you’ve done the heavy lifting, maintaining a clean home becomes much easier with a regular upkeep routine.

My Favorite Cleaning Products
Before we dive into the checklist, I want to share some of my favorite cleaning products. These three staples will cover almost every cleaning need in your home:
- Soap and Water: Simple but effective. Antibacterial dish soap kills 99.9% of bacteria and works well for most surfaces without harsh chemicals.
- Vinegar: A must-have for cleaning floors, deodorizing the washing machine, and tackling stubborn grout. It’s natural, powerful, and budget-friendly.
- Baking Soda: Ideal for deodorizing and tackling tough stains. I love using it as a paste for cleaning stubborn spots, especially in the kitchen and bathroom.
- I also am a huge fan of Mrs. Meyers products, specifically the Mum and the SnowDrop scents.

- Wipe Down Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets: These areas tend to collect grime and grease over time. Give them a good wipe-down to refresh your space. This is a great product for these.
- Wipe Down Light Switch Plates and Doorknobs: These high-touch spots can accumulate germs and dirt. Wipe them with a damp cloth for a quick clean.
- Wipe Down Doors: Doors get scuffed, so it’s worth taking a moment to wipe them down with a damp cloth.
- Clean Furniture and Wash Slipcovers: If you have slipcovers, toss them in the laundry for a quick refresh. Otherwise, wipe down your furniture to remove dust and dirt. I also rely on this upholstery steam cleaner to get deep down into the grime embedded in fabrics.
- Clean Your Refrigerator and Freezer: Remove expired items, wipe down the shelves, and give everything a good scrub to make it look (and smell!) fresh again.
- Wash Duvet Covers and Bedding: Nothing beats fresh, clean bedding. Wash duvet covers, pillowcases, and blankets to give your room a new-season refresh.
- Wash or Refresh Curtains: Curtains can gather dust, so wash them if you can, or give them a quick fluff in the dryer to freshen them up.
- Clean Throw Blankets and Pillow Covers: These little touches add warmth to your space, so make sure they’re clean and fresh.
- Clean Your Washing Machine: A washing machine cleaner will help remove residue and odors, making sure your machine works efficiently. This one was recommended and we use it often.
- Clean Walls: Grab a damp cloth to wipe down walls and remove any smudges or marks. I recently bought this wall cleaner and it works like a charm!
- Dust and Clean Trim: Dusting baseboards and trim is a simple task that makes a huge difference. It’s an easy way to give your home a polished, finished look.
- Tackle Grout: Use a natural grout cleaner or mix baking soda and water to make a paste. Let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing away grime.
- Dust Light Fixtures and Bulbs: Dust can dim the light fixtures, so give them a quick clean to brighten up your space.
- Polish Wooden Furniture: Buffing wooden furniture will restore its shine and help remove any dirt or grime.
- Schedule Upholstery and Carpet Cleaning: Professional cleaners can make a big difference when it comes to deep-cleaning your upholstery and carpets.
- Clean Outdoor Rugs: Don’t forget the outside of your home! Hose down your outdoor rugs to keep them fresh and inviting.
- Vacuum and Wipe Down Inside Kitchen and Bathroom Drawers: These hidden spaces can get neglected. Empty them out and clean both the inside and outside of the drawers.
- Clean Window Sills: Window sills often accumulate dust, dirt, and sometimes even mold. Clean them to keep your home feeling fresh. Learn how to make this floral art here! It is a fun spring DIY project!
