I love sugar scrubs. They are great for dry skin and these cute little DIY’s make adorable mother’s day gifts.
The “recipe” is so easy, a kindergartener can make it. In fact, it would be a fun project to do in quarantine with the kiddos.
This recipe calls for 3 things. 2 of which you probably already have. Coconut oil, granulated sugar, and essential oils. If you don’t have essential oils, you can find them here. I like to use the coconut oil from Trader Joes, but Amazon also carries it.
And then if you want to reuse containers you already have, you can. However, I like to use these and I love using my old school cheap-o label maker too. I use the 9 oz. size which makes a really good amount to gift.
These look so cute in the shower, I am already looking forward to making peppermint ones for holiday gifts. I can picture them now with cute little holiday tags and ribbon.
Each batch makes 4 jars full.
You can make up several batches all with different scents.
I chose citrus fresh because I had an abundance of this oil and it smells perfect for Spring.
DIY sugar scrub
Ingredients:
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup coconut oil
- essential oil
Instructions:
- Combine 3 cups granulated sugar with 1 cup coconut oil. Add in drops of essential oil, as much as you’d like. I use about 40 + drops. Scoop into containers and pack in. Label with your label maker.
What scent would be your favorite to receive as a gift?
