A couple years ago my friend Jenny and I hosted a succulent party at my house.
It was such a fun project and if you happen to have missed it, I’d like to show you how fun and easy it is to have a get together with your friends and make one of these succulent garden cakes!
The first thing you will need is a lot of small succulents. Each one of ours has around 20, but this will depend on the size of your container. You can find succulents these at your local home improvement center such as Home Depot or Lowes. You can also buy them online in bulk here, here, and here.
To set the tone for the party, you can serve finger foods such as fruit and sandwiches.
Jenny made cute little succulent cookies and decorated a naked cake with succulents as well.
Welcome your guests at the door with a handmade sign.
We used heart shaped cake pans to make our succulent gardens, but any unique container will do.
The “recipe” is below.
Aren’t they adorable?
I love succulents because they require little to no maintenance. They are easy to grow and can handle drought. They do need about 6 hours of sun, so make sure you place them in a sunny location.
You can fertilize them as needed and remove dead or decaying leaves to keep them looking nice.
Thank you Kelly for the beautiful photos.
Be sure to pin any of these images for future reference!
