Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 medium ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
- dried banana chips for garnish
- FROSTING
- I use store bought to save on time
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then the sour cream and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in bananas. Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (do not overbake), 20-25 minutes. Let cool. Once cooled, spread on the cream cheese frosting and sprinkle on dried banana slices for garnish. They also add a nice crunch to this creamy and moist cake. Don’t they look delicious?
