DIY Easter Egg Planter.
I love a good Dollar Tree project and this is definitely one of them!
Here is how they started out!
These come in a 3 pack at the Dollar Tree.
Instructions-
You can paint these any color you want.
In an effort to save money and have them look cohesive with our decor, I chose to use leftover paint from our kitchen cabinets.Â
To give them more of a stone like texture, I mixed a bit of baking soda into the paint.
This will make it chunkier and go on in an un-even pattern which is what we want!
I protected my work surface and then using inexpensive foam brushes, I started brushing on the paint in random patterns.
Before I let the paint dry completely, I sprinkled on a bit more baking soda to add to the texture and then brushed off the excess.
Ideas for displaying these DIY Easter egg planters-
I bought potted tulips at the grocery store.
Since these “planters” don’t have bottoms, I had to place a clear vase inside them first to raise up the height of the tulips to be flush at the top.
You can also do this using any household item. Think soup cans, coffee cups, candles, etc.
Then to finish off the void space, I added Spanish moss.Â
Each package comes with three eggs.
The smallest one does not have an opening at the top but the two larger ones do.
You could also add a clear cylinder vase and add fresh flowers.
I think this grouping would make a great centerpiece for your Easter table don’t you?
You can paint them to match your Easter dinnerware, flowers, napkins, etc.
They’d even be cute painted three different colors I think.
If you don’t want to go to all the work of painting them with a brush, spray paint would work well too.
I would suggest getting a spray paint with a built in primer.
What do you think? Will you be running to your Dollar Tree to see if you can make this $1.25 centerpiece for Easter?
I think they turned out really high end and beautiful looking for a dollar store project!
Please pin any of these images to your Easter or DIY boards.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
