When you live in a small house with lots of “stuff”
organization is key.
With 2 girls in the house we seem to have a lot of bathroom stuff, hair products, hair accessories,
well, you get the point.
So, I came up with this idea to hide extra storage behind a curtain.
I had a French sheet that I got a while ago from Dreamy Whites.
It was hard to cut into it, but it was the perfect color and weight.
I only had to hem one side of it and I left the top with a raw edge since it wasn’t going to show.
I attached it to the cabinet with sticky back Velcro,
and doubled the length to create a little ruffled look.
I did sew the other strip to the fabric.
Not that you need to see all my junk, but I am so excited that everything has a place now!
I got out my label maker and went to town.
It feels SO good to have everything organized,
that I am now moving on to the laundry room!
By the way, this all started from watching one episode of
Have you seen it?
Holy cow those people are inspiring!
And how about a little side by side before and after?

Absolutely gorgeous!! I love the entire piece, even more so now! I'll be copying this skirt to cover a large dog crate we'll be hiding under an end table. Thank you!

At first I was thinking, hmm. Then I saw the before and after. Wow, how cute is that. So cottage chic and such a great way to get in a lot of extra storage!

Looks great! I've done something similar in my laundry room, using an inexpensive tension rod and clip rings to hang my skirt. All the hardware is up underneath, so you can't see it, but I can slide the skirting aside easily.

Hi Melanie!
I have a sofa table that I painted black and I skirted it with painter's cloth… I have four of the long narrow containers under mine.
I also have two hutches that are very similar to yours. I have been trying to figure out if I want to paint them black or cream… now I know just what to do! I love the black back since it will show off the white dishes and the rest of it won't show the dust so much.
Wow… this comment is almost a post :0)
Have a great Easter weekend!

I love this! You know I did this with a changing table. It was the same shape. Stuck a skirt around it and hid a toy box under it. I love ideas that are practical. I just stumbled onto your blog, love it!
