When I say these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are better than a bakery, I am telling the truth!
These cookies are so good that you will probably want to double, maybe even triple the recipe.
The good news is that they freeze very well so you are always sure to have some on hand.
I cannot take all the credit for this recipe however.
My neighbor and friend has been making these for years and they have become quite popular in our neighborhood.
People ask her to make them for reunions, birthdays, you name it.
I am sure she has made thousands of them in her life.
The difference between my recipe and her recipe is that she adds 2 cups of chopped walnuts to hers.
We prefer them without the walnuts, but if you like that extra crunch, be sure to add them in.
* EDITED TO ADD 2 CUBES OF BUTTER IS 2 STICKS *
One thing I like to do is use an ice cream scoop to place the dough on the cookie sheet withI find it makes the best consistent size.
I also like to flatten the tops slightly before baking them.
Just make sure you have plenty of space between the cookies to spread out while baking.
Print out this recipe and pin these images to your recipe boards so you can reference it often!
I know you will be making these time and time again.
