Have you ever had a blood orange martini?
If you haven’t, you are in for a treat.
Do you know the difference between regular navel oranges and blood oranges?
Blood oranges have a dark red flesh and are less acidic, slightly sweeter, and have hints of raspberry/strawberry.
Eating blood oranges can help improve your heart health and even boost your memory.
Both kinds of oranges are healthy and hydrating and offer a welcome tropical flavor making them perfect for this summer cocktail!
For this recipe I use my favorite juicer to juice the blood oranges.
The color you will get out of these is gorgeous, which also makes this cocktail so beautiful!

How to make this delicious blood orange martini.
After you have juiced your blood oranges, set the juice aside in the refrigerator.
I like to place my martini glasses in the freezer so they are nice and chilled when you are ready to serve.
Then all you will need is simple syrup, vodka, ice, cocktail shaker, lime juice and cointreau.

Add 2 oz. blood orange juice, 1.5 ounces vodka, 1/2 ounce Cointreau, 1/2 ounce lime juice, and 1 teaspoon simple syrup to the cocktail shaker. If you’d like, you can add a couple drops of orange bitters. Shake for approximately 10 seconds.
Strain the drink into a glass and serve!
A blood orange slice floating in the top gives the drink a  nice added touch. Martinis are always served straight up, so no need to add ice when you serve it.
