I have been doing so many projects with air dry clay lately but they are just so fun! Air dry clay is so inexpensive and it is so easy to work with. I prefer the brand DAS as it’s the only one I have had the best luck with. However, I haven’t tried them all, so maybe you have a favorite. These DIY clay conversation heart napkin rings are so easy to make!
MATERIALS NEEDED-
Air dry clay. I used the color called “stone” because I wanted a sort of concrete look to these hearts. You’ll need wax paper, a rolling pin, a heart shaped cookie cutter, and an alphabet stamp kit Napkin rings. I used these ones.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE DIY CLAY CONVERSATION HEARTS NAPKIN RINGS.
Start by protecting your work surface with wax paper. Roll out the clay onto the wax paper until you get your desired thickness. Keep in mind, the thicker you go, the longer they will take to dry. Once you have a uniform thickness you can start cutting out your heart shapes just as you would if you were making cookies. Transfer them with a spatula to a clean sheet of wax paper. Using your stamp kit, press the letters in to spell out sayings. You can do custom sayings or use the ones they have on real conversation hearts. You will need to let these dry a minimum overnight, flipping them every so often.
