Don’t you love a good dollar store project?
Todays dollar store candle hack is such a simple one that anyone can do!
It’s so satisfying when you can take something that costs less than a cup of coffee, and turn it into something that looks like you bought it at a boutique.
I have had a lot of fun lately working with dollar store items, and also using wallpaper samples in my DIY projects.
In case you missed it, I made these designer coasters out of wallpaper samples and coasters from the dollar store recently. Click here to read how make them!
So today I got out my wallpaper samples again, but this time peel and stick wallpaper samples.
I found a great spring wallpaper sample here with graphic peonies all over it.
It comes in red, gray, and gold.
I bet you can guess which one I picked!
Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and I was so excited to be included in this project with a bunch of my favorites displaying their peony projects.
Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post to see their creations using all things peony!
Then I picked a few other coordinating peel and stick wallpaper samples here.Â
You can purchase a plethora of samples on this site for only $5.00.
Ok, while I was waiting for those to arrive I went down to my local Dollar Tree and bought a bunch of these 8″ glass jar candles.Â
HOW TO MAKE DECORATIVE CANDLES WITH PEEL AND STICK WALLPAPER SAMPLES:
Most of my samples came the perfect size already.
However I made a template out of plain computer paper to get my exact dimensions before cutting into the samples.
For reference you, the perfect size is 7.5″ tall by 7.25″ wide.
Once you have your template you can trace it onto the backside of the samples, use a paper cutter to ensure a straight cut.
Then simply peel off the backing and roll your candle onto the sticky side.
That is it!
I like grouping them in sets with different patterns all keeping in the same color family.
I made so many of them!
This is such a quick project that you could make for a party, as a gift, or for your own home.
