I did this with my own stairs and I love it! It is kind of funny when one of my boys accidentally trips up the stairs and they say something like, “That stupid #5 stair!”

I did this to my stairs and I LOVE it. It adds so much to the stairs. My 2 year old was going up the stairs counting the other day. So there is an added benefit!

It is clever — but do you really want to know how many steps you climb how many times a day? LOL

I did this to the flip house we are renovating and it looks so fun! I love cheap, easy ways to spruce things up and add flair. Great inspiration photos. The Pottery Barn one (first photo) is my favourite!

I so love this idea. I am not sure I could do it on my main staircase, but I do plan on doing it when we put in a full staircase to our attic!

How cute is this idea? My kids would love it. Too bad my steps are carpeted.

I’ve never seen this, though I always… and this is strange.. count the steps!
I think it’s just a design habit I got into. I would always pay attention to how hard or easy a set of stairs is to climb.
Go figure.
Knowing my boys, that would be like a score card. you get points based on how high up the steps you can throw a paper airplane, a beanbag, the dog,.. your brother!
