Add faux greenery-
Why add in greenery to an already green tree? Well, it will create a really full and voluptuous tree. I used faux magnolia stems to tie in with the brown I am using this year. You can use pinecone picks, or any faux branches.Pick a color scheme and run with it-
I chose a color scheme of blacks, browns, ivory, and grays. Pick a minimum of three colors and stick to those. This will create a cohesive pulled together look.Add ribbon-
Adding ribbon will also help to make your tree look fuller. Chose a ribbon that ties in with one of your main colors. I like wired ribbon on my tree so it can be “shaped” Add bows of ribbon here and there, standing back every now and then to see where a space is looking a little lonely, then add more.Use a mix of materials-
Use a mix of materials on your tree. This may include paper ornaments, metal ornaments, glass ornaments, and so on. This will create interest and keep your tree from looking bland.Lighting-
Always use warm lights. The warm lights create a cozier glow than the cool ones. Of course this tree comes pre-lit with tons of beautiful warm white lights, so that is an added bonus! A HELPFUL TIP- As you buy your gifts, instead of storing them to wrap later, wrap them as you buy them. Placed around the bottom of your tree all season long, it will also help to create a warm, full, and cozy look. An added bonus is that you won’t be doing a mad dash late December to get all your gifts wrapped! Not only will you get a great discount, but it is literally like Christmas when you open up your storage bins the following year! I think this is my favorite tree we’ve ever created in this home over that last 25 years. I hope you got some great tips for creating a designer Christmas tree!
