Welcome to the fourth week of the Seasonal Simplicity series. Today a group of my blogging friends and I are sharing our Holiday Mantels and a few vignette decorating ideas, to help inspire you for the upcoming holidays. I rarely do a garland on our mantle because it typically will block the tv. But this year I came up with a solution that not only leaves the tv in clear view, but also balances out the greenery with the tree on the one side of the room!
I love how our asymmetrical mantle garland turned out.
I used two of these garlands. Inexpensive and they have lights! {I did take off the red berries}
I nailed small brad nails into the mantle to hold piece number one and swooped it over to the side letting it hang down slightly. Then I took piece number 2 and started near the edge and let that piece hang longer to the ground.
Finally I beefed it up in the corner by adding fresh pine and cedar from my yard.
So simple and I love the light and greenery it adds to that side of the room. It really does balance out the tree nicely.

Looks beautiful! Love the asymmetrical look – especially with the tree balanced on the other side.
