Did you get your latest issue of Pottery Barn? If so, you saw this beautiful sleeping porch with these fabulous quilts! It brings back memories for me of when I was little. I always had a hand made quilt on my bed. My mom is a quilter and her mom was one too. I was so excited to see this picture…….
they just ooze with country charm, don’t they?
we always had stacks of quilts like this around the house when I was growing up

This picture looks a lot like my mom’s sewing room!

Great post, I love quilts. You can never have enough and each one tells a different story. That is my dream to have the time to make a
quilt for both of my children. May you have a great week ahead…Missy
I love the quilts, they are all so pretty.
Bonne semaine

Melaine, thanks for the photos! I am a quilter, but by no means an expert. I love to see quilts used today in decorating and borrow the ideas for my home. We have a Pottery Barn (Canada)store about an hour from here and that is the only way I can get the new catalogue.
I have posted about my mom’s quilts on my blog. She has stacks of quilts everywhere. I have quite a collection of her quilts, too. I love to snuggle under one of them on a cold, dreary day. They are also perfect to take to outdoor events where the weather is a bit chilly. My mom just returned from a week on the coast with her quilting friends. They stayed at a place that had beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.

I saw the quilts and love them. I would also love a sleeping porch. We have stacks of quilts around our house…I am glad I finally took them out of closets and out to use and been seen.
I love, love quilting. My mother in law makes beautiful all by hand. She alwaqys takes two or three grandkids a year and makes a great heirloom for them. I started quilting about 5 years ago and always seem to get one made during the New Year's week right before the kids start back to school. Living in Idaho there are alot of days just to stay home to quilt & make great soup! Thanks for the pictures. I especially love the porch.
