The decorating has begun and first up is Savannah’s room! I wanted to share with you her bedroom Christmas tree today and the direction I took this year. If you are coming from Room Bloom Design, welcome! Coming from color, you are entering a space of neutrals! Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post because I have a shocking secret about this tree and the ornaments on it! THEME
I thought it appropriate to do a woodland themed tree this year in her room for a couple reasons. Savannah loves the outdoors, we live on a lake backed by hundreds of acres of woods and we see a lot of wildlife out here.
THE TREE
I started with a 7′ artificial pine tree and added 500 warm white LED lights. Adding more lights than you think will create a magical glow at night, and will ensure no space is left bare. I always buy more than I think I will need and I am never disappointed. I even add extra lights to my pre-lit Christmas trees. I placed it in my favorite woven tree collar to hide the base.
WOODLAND ORNAMENTS
log slices woodland critters pinecone picks brown glass variety canoes deer grapevine stars If you are considering placing a Christmas tree in a bedroom, I would highly recommend it. There’s something so cozy and even romantic about white twinkling lights on a dark night. Here’s a few more photos and details on this tree! Are you ready for my big secret about this tree? I found it at Goodwill! Can you believe it? Not only is the tree from Goodwill but all the ornaments are thrifted too! Yes, all the ornaments! The only thing I purchased was the lights. Be sure to follow along with me on Instagram because every Thursday in my stories I take you along on thrifting trips and show you my finds. I also give examples of things you can do with ordinary thrift shop items, great hacks, and great DIY ideas. If you aren’t the thrifting type, that is ok too!
