Ever wonder what the best way to style a console table is?


Today six bloggers, myself included, are sharing our tips and tricks for styling console tables and sideboards.


The floating sideboard in our dining room has been styled several ways over the years. It is a really fun place to style for the different seasons and holidays. 


One thing you will always notice that remains the same, is lamplight.


I love lamplight and I love how a lamp adds height to the space.


I am also not a big fan of tchotchke’s. I like the items I use on a sideboard to have a purpose, or be something really beautiful.


Below I have used chunky wood bookends that are almost more of an art piece. They add the right amount of texture and also scale to balance out the lamp.  


In keeping with the neutral color scheme, I added in some of my favorite books in black, white, and grey, and then my favorite vase with a fun textural air plant.


A large mirror ties everything together. 

Let’s see how changing up a few things can change the entire look of the space.


Ok, same piece of furniture, different art.


Here I still did a lamp on one end and kept the same color palette. 


In this case, I leaned art on the opposite end of the lamp to bookend the space. 


In the center, a vintage silver tray holds wine glasses and fresh flowers. 

You can also keep things super simple with just something on either end. A lamp and a stack of books with a decorative object on top might be all you like!
