Good morning!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
Ours was very relaxing, spending hours
in our boat out on Lake Washington.
It reached 97 degrees here and there was
no place I’d rather be than out on the water.
I have some gorgeous photos to share with you.
Isn’t this a great use of a small space?
This photo makes me want to kick off my shoes and jump right in.
A fireplace covered in oyster shells? Now that’s a new one.
~Fabulous~

I’m sure you have seen this around blog land before,
but I keep coming back to it time and time again.
The lighting, the chalkboard, the white cabinets, the vintage stove,
~oh my!~

Um,
hi nice lady,
can I move in?
Numbers on the back of chairs,
and that chalkboard again.
{loving the french toile too}
I love how in this semi~formal setting you see
the football schedule on the ornate chalkboard!
complete with a chandelier.
Loving the old clock and the wood ceilings in this kitchen.

Cute little slip covered stools in this gorgeous kitchen.

My husband and I made that coat rack! That was my inspiration pic a few years ago. It is 10 feet long and one of my fav DIY projects ever!

Heather is my absolute fave! She can come to my house any day!
I just love your blog. I do have to tell you the truth. When I do come by and check you blog out I keep it up for hours because I love listening to the music you have on it. Thank you!! Also I just love what you have done with your daughters room. Amazing work!
I adore ALL of those pictures and I think I have all but 1 ripped out and stuck in a binder for whenever my hubby and I build our "forever house". Great inspiration!!! Thanks Melanie 🙂
LOVE the pictures, esp. the first one…..gotta see if I can do something like that 🙂
Hugs
Congrats Sarah! Lovely pictures
I live on Lake Washington ~ maybe you were one of the many boats that went by my home today. We always love the boats and feel the lake is alive on days when it is so busy. Hope you get more time out there.
Fondly,
Glenda
Glad you enjoyed your weekend on the lake. We've had nothing BUT 97+ degree days. We are into the 2nd week of school already.
I have always liked Heather's work.
Isn't she at Coastal Living now?
I love that light fixture in the photo of the old clock and the wood ceiling. I took a lamp shade and stripped off the old material and added my own fabric-it is the best ever! Especially if you find a unique shaped frame to add the fabric to. Of course the one in the photo looks great, like it is burlap. I use skirts I find in thrift stores for fabric-if you find the right one you'll have a good amount of fabric. I have been re-using clothing as fabric for a long time now. Our only fabric store moved much farther away from where my town is. But my small town has lots of thrift stores.
I could spend the entire day looking at all of these photo's! This is exactly how I want the little home we are building to feel. THANK YOU!!! Such inspiration to me!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
I so miss Cottage Living Magazine. Heather did some great decorating in those precious issues!! Thankfully I have every single issue ever printed.
Hi Melaine! Great inspiration photos. I've just returned from a family vacation on the east side of Washington so I've been catching up on your posts. I love the one of your blogging space! It's so darling. The little book boxes that hold bills…how clever. Where did you find them? I think I've seen those before at TJ Maxx. Except I'd need like 10 of them to hold all my bills, LOL!
I was expecting to come back to the west side and find relief from the heat but no such luck….I hope your family has been enjoying the lake!

Lovely post, as always. Loving Heather's work. I think she does some things for Coastal Living?
Wondering how your daughter likes her room now that she has settled in? Did she change anything? lol They always seem to do something to put their own spin on things.
I love all the chalkboard pics too-Diana
Melaine~I love you for this post! I saw these pics in a special edition of Southern Living at the checkout stand, I was drooling over some, came back to actually buy the magazine and it was gone. So thank you for the pics and credits!! 🙂
SO glad you had a great weekend! It's hot here in CA too! 🙂
Thank you so much for the beautiful inspiration! I needed that!!!
I adore Heather Chadduck. I'd love to see a book or a blog with all her goodness. I was hoping Southern Living would start featuring her work more but all I've seen was that one before and after special publication.
