Many of you wonder how living with messy young kids, 2 big dogs, a rabbit, and a husband who likes to get dirty work out with our slipcovered sectional.

This is the sectional we have, and drumroll please………



WE LOVE IT!
Seriously, we have had catsup on it, wine, chocolate, you name it, even bunny poop.
{keeping it real here}
and it’s the perfect sofa for us because the slipcovers are easily washable.

I wash the cushion covers often and the main slipcover about once a month.
I have also had it dry cleaned once, but it’s not necessary.
{it was after our dishwasher caught fire and I needed to get the smoke smell out}

I have hung the covers to dry and I have also put them in the dryer on low to no heat.
The main cover is a bit of a wrestling match to get back on, but I just count it as a work out.

Really, if you are hesitating on buying a white or off white slipcovered couch due to the grit and grime of everyday life~don’t.
It’s so much easier to clean than an upholstered piece.
And look how comfy!

      I love my white slip covers! Since I started putting on the main cover while still quite damp it is no longer a struggle! I just put it through an extra spin in the washer and put it right on when I take it out.

      I luv our white slip covers. We have always had slipcovered furniture. Nothing like tossing it all on the wash and it coming our fresh and clean. Perfect with kids, pets, and husbands too 🙂

      We love our white slip covered sofa and two chairs! They have been through two babies who are now pre-teens, a cat and a dog and I wouldn't trade them for anything!

      I had white slipcovers made out of commercial white denim fabric they have held up great (for the most part). After many washes and dryer (occasionally air dried) the seating areas began to slowly rip open. I went to Walmart's fabric section and purchased a couple yards of white denim and had my seamstress hem the edges. Now I place the long covers on the seating area to cover the slip cover tears and they blend in perfectly on the sofa. Now when the seat cushions get dirty I just toss the loose denim covers in the wash. ghe I wish I had done that much sooner! #livenlearn #hindsightis2020

      Others have asked, but I'm also curious what fabric you used for your couch. Some seem to hold up better than others.
