Quilt Cookies Made Easy

These charming quilt cookies look intricate, but they’re surprisingly simple to make! Roll out your favorite cookie dough, arrange it into different quilt-inspired patterns, and bake as usual. No decorating is needed—the beautiful designs come from the way you arrange the dough.

Perfect for holidays, parties, craft nights, or anytime you want bakery-style cookies without complicated decorating. Let the patterns speak for themselves and enjoy every bite.

Comment QUILT and I’ll send you the cutter that makes these cookies easy to create!

I bought it because I loved it. Then it sold for $1,650.

Lately, I’ve been drawn to pottery—the organic shapes, muted colors, and handcrafted details. So when I spotted this platter at Goodwill for $7.99, I happily brought it home.

Once home, I noticed a signature on the bottom. A little research led me to McCarty pottery, and what started as something pretty for my house turned into one of my best thrift finds ever.

Yes, $1,650 was the actual selling price.

Your reminder to turn things over, look for signatures, and research those marks.

Comment THRIFT for the link to my thrifting ebook, where I share what I look for when shopping secondhand.

Would you have picked this one up?

A $7.99 thrift find with expensive antique potential.

Comment BRASS and I’ll send you the magic aging product I used to transform this shiny little pot.

That rich, timeworn finish is exactly what I was hoping for. A soft ribbon, a little greenery, and it looks right at home.

Save this for your next thrift trip—and don’t pass up the shiny brass!

Think pasta salad is just for summer? These claws beg to differ.

Comment PASTA and I’ll send you the recipe!

My thrifted claw servers inspired this Halloween pasta salad, and the black-and-white bow ties made it all come together. Add juicy tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil, and dressing for a dish that looks right at home on a spooky fall table.

Sometimes one little thrift find inspires the whole meal.

Save this for your next Halloween gathering!

Why spend over $1,300 on an antiqued mirror when you can thrift one and give it a whole new look?

This started as a gold-framed thrift store find. A little DIY gave it the aged finish and black frame I was after—and I love how it looks styled in our home.

Comment MIRROR and I’ll send you the blog post with the supplies and step-by-step tutorial. Save this for your next thrift flip!

The banners you keep asking about? They started as a drop cloth.

Comment BANNER and I’ll send you links to the stencils and supplies to make your own.

My favorite trick: use a used drop cloth. The worn fabric and paint marks give your banner that perfectly imperfect, vintage feel.

Choose a favorite place, meaningful phrase, or seasonal saying, then follow these simple steps:

1. Cut your drop cloth to size and iron it flat.
2. Arrange your letter stencils.
3. Trace each letter with a pencil, then remove the stencils.
4. Fill in the outlines with acrylic paint.
5. Let dry completely, then hang.

Save this DIY fabric banner tutorial for your next project. What would yours say?

The cutest witch at your Halloween table? Your nap

The cutest witch at your Halloween table? Your napkin—no broom required!

Save this spellbinding witch hat napkin tutorial for your next Halloween dinner. Use a black cloth napkin and buckle napkin ring for a fang-tastic place setting.

Fold the napkin in half, roll from one corner into a cone, slide on the napkin ring, and fan out the bottom to create the brim. Watch the steps above, then add a little hocus-pocus to your table!

Save this idea, share it with a fellow Halloween host, and try the fold yourself!

The candle is cheap. The boutique look? A STICKER.

The candle is cheap. The boutique look? A STICKER.

Comment SEAL and I’ll send you the links to these peel-and-stick wax seals.

I love the wax seal candle trend, but melting hot wax sounded like one more mess to clean up. These make it so easy: remove the candle’s label, peel off the backing, and press on a seal. That’s the whole DIY.

They come in a pack of 50, and now I want to put them on everything—gift wrap, ribbon, jars, envelopes, and holiday place cards. Such a simple way to make everyday finds feel special.

Save this for your next candle makeover or holiday gift-wrapping day!

The best Halloween find might be hiding in the Christmas aisle.

I turned thrifted Christmas houses into a haunted village with black spray paint and spooky little accents. Then I plugged them in—and the glow made the whole makeover.

Comment HAUNTED and I’ll send you links to the supplies.

Save this for your next thrift trip, and follow @mysweetsavannah for more thrift flips and seasonal DIYs.
