I usually start this post by saying happy Friday! However, all the days seem to be running together lately . All week I was off by a day, but it doesn’t really matter anyway.
I thought I’d take this time to share some of my favorite recipes and projects that maybe you can make from items you already have at home.
Allowing myself to be creative during this tough time has helped me, and I hope it helps anyone else that is down a bit.
Something else I am doing that may seem ordinary but has helped me a lot, is to pretend like it’s any other day. Meaning, I get up at a normal time, make beds, shower and do my makeup and get dressed as if I was going to work.
Trust me, there have been days I want to stay in my pajamas all day with my greasy hair pulled in a bun. But there is something about normalcy that is helping keep me a bit sane.
I have been doing a lot of baking. Comfort foods like yummy warm loaves of bread are so great. I make extra and freeze them to pull out at a later time.
Try baking these mini loaves. I have several recipes for my favorite breads in this post.
Friday favorites
How about a delicious and gooey chocolate chip cookie recipe? This one is one of my favorites.
This macaroni and cheese will feed a lot, and it is my kids most requested dinner. So, so good! You make it in the crockpot, so it’s super easy too!
What about making some pom poms out of yarn or raffia?
If you have a chalkboard in your home, you can create this one with a few easy steps.
However, if you just feel like shopping online, {me!} here are some fun things I found this week.
A lot of stores are having sales right now and it’s always fun to see the Amazon delivery guy walking up my steps.
I splurged on a couple things. One being this found granite pot. Another being
these beads, which are currently on backorder.
This bowl is also on my wish list.
And this. I have the perfect spot for it, but know I could find it cheaper at HomeGoods when they open back up.
I did order this dough bowl. I love the white color, and the beads above will go in it.
I also purchased these sunglasses and they should arrive this weekend!
I also got one of these old wooden stools. I have been wanting one for a while and decided now is as good a time as any.
This cookbook looks like something that would be interesting.
Oh, great deal on pillows here. I just ordered a pair of the white faux linen as they came highly recommended by a friend. I think the striped ones are fun too!
This portfolio is full of so much eye candy and inspiration!
Enjoy your weekend at home. Tackle a project, read a book, bake a loaf of bread, or take a long nap.
See you back here on Monday morning!
xoxo, Melaine

So fun! And I totally agree about getting up and straightening up… and a little make up 🙂
