For these types of charcuteries, I like to use my round bread board.
I also like to use these ramikins for things like nutella, and chocolate covered raisins.
To create this ombre effect, you will need chocolate desserts in colors that range from dark chocolate to light chocolate.
If you are making this for Valentines day, be sure to incorporate some chocolate hearts.
Here are the desserts I used, going from top to bottom:
Round wafer cookies.
Snackwells cookies.
Brownie bites.
Flower shaped sandwich cookies {could substitute oreos}
Nutella.
Milk chocolate hearts.
Milk chocolate truffles.
Chocolate covered raisins.
Lindor milk chocolate bar broken into squares.
Lindor chocolate balls.
Milk chocolate chips.
Peanut butter cookies
Hersheys peanut and pretzel gold chocolate bar, broken into chunks
White chocolate curly shaving topping
Mini frosted donuts
White chocolate hearts
Hersheys cookies and cream bar broken into pieces
Almond wafter cookies
Here are my tips for making this affordable.
1- shop at the Dollar Tree/Store for the seasonal chocolates
2- Shop discount stores for the other items. I like to go to the Grocery Outlet when I am making charcuterie boards.
3- Use store brand cookies instead of name brand. For example, the flower sandwich cookies are a no name brand, where I couldn’t used Oreos and paid more.
4- Shop your pantry. More than likely you will have some of the items such as chocolate chips, nutella, {even peanut butter}
5- Instead of buying brownie bites, make your own brownies and cut them into tiny squares.
6- Shop seasonal items after the season is over. After Christmas is over you can find truffles and other chocolates on close out. Pick these up. When unwrapped no one will ever know they were a holiday item. Just don’t buy the Christmas tree shaped chocolates 🙂
7- If you are serving this the day you make and buy your items, look for day old items in the bakery section of your grocery store.
