I recently discovered these and was taken aback by how pretty they are. I am drawn to natural elements and the cacho pods and the Spanish moss are such a good pairing.
You can use them as bowl fillers or wherever you’d like to add a bit of natural elegance to your home. They have a unique texture and shape and no two are alike.
What are cacho pods exactly?
Cacho pods, also known as cacho de cabra pods, are elongated seed pods produced by the Cercidium praecox tree, which is a species of flowering tree native to the deserts of South America. These pods are often dried and used in various decorative arrangements due to their unique shape and texture. They are sometimes also used in crafts or as natural ornaments. The name “cacho de cabra” translates from Spanish to “goat’s horn,” referring to the curved, horn-like appearance of the pods.

These supplies will make 2 wreaths, so grab a friend and get crafting! Cacho pods Wire wreath form Spanish moss Hot glue gun and glue sticksInstructions-
Start by protecting your work surface and heating up your glue gun. There really is no rhyme or reason to where the pods are placed on the wreath form. Eyeball it so it looks good to you. I will have a video up on my Instagram if you need a better visual. A tip I will give is to glue the pods on from the underneath side of the wreath form, and hold until the glue dries. This takes a bit of patience but you will be so happy with the result! The pods can be glued on any which way and don’t worry about the gluey mess on the back, it will eventually get covered up. Once you have about 30 pods glued onto the wreath form, start tucking in Spanish moss, little by little. Once all the cracks and gaps are filled in, carefully flip it upside down and glue Spanish moss all over the back to hide any imperfections.
